А Federal Law No. 419-81 was passed on June 29, 2023 regarding the introduction of a resort fee on the territory of St. Petersburg.
It will take effect on April 1, 2024 at the hotels.
As of April 1, 2024, a fee in the amount of 100 rubles per day will be charged for all individuals over 18 years of age who plan to stay in any accommodation for more than 24 hours.
The amount of the resort fee in St. Petersburg is 100 rubles per day of actual stay of the resort fee payer in the accommodation facility.
The amount to be paid is calculated using the formula:
Resort fee amount = number of days of stay (excluding check-in day) x 100 rubles.
● A resort fee will apply for stays longer than 24 hours.
● The number of days of stay is calculated in calendar days (without reference
to the checkout time and the actual time of arrival of the guest).
● There is no fee for the first calendar day of stay.
● The day of departure is also taken into account (regardless of the
time of departure).
● In case of early departure, the amount of money paid for unused days is
returned to the guest.
Refusal to pay the fee is not grounds for refusal to check into the hotel.
- Children under 18 years of age are exempt from paying the resort fee.
- Persons who have a place of residence in the territory of St. Petersburg.
- 21 preferential categories of citizens are exempt from paying resort fees, including veterans, disabled peoples, students of St. Petersburg universities, members of large families and others.
All the funds collected from the resort fee will go to the regional budget to finance the design, construction, repair and improvement of the resort infrastructure of St. Petersburg.
